Georgina started her career in animal care and spent fifteen years specialising in the logistics of animals traveling to and from the UK.  In 2018, and now a mother of four, she embarked on a different journey by co-founding an online business in 2018 alongside her father.

“Driven by the need for flexibility to accommodate my growing family, I established The KitBox while caring for my four-month-old baby.

In 2023, I teamed up with Jo, and since then, we have collaboratively steered the business toward the directions I had always envisioned. Together, we have expanded the business into new areas, leveraging our combined skills and expertise to drive its growth and development.”

Jo has spent her working life in the corporate sector across multiple areas, but was made redundant from a Senior Management position in February 2022. She took a few months out to think about what really motivates her and whether the continued climb up the career ladder was the way to go.

“Becoming self-employed at the age of 48 is daunting, risky and full of possibilities. I am loving being closer to customers again, making decisions and trying new things without any corporate red tape. It is so rewarding when you hear from a customer who loves their KitBox, and so exciting when you get a new five-star review.

It is definitely one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.”
